Preview: Leeds United v. LFC

LFC travel to Leeds on Sunday for a Premier League football match.

Leeds is managed by the legendary Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa. They are, in my opinion, the most fun team in the Premier League to watch, outside of the so-called “Top Six.” They press intensely, using unusual “man-marking” principles (i.e., man-to-man defense), and their off-the-ball movement offensively is both unusual and effective. For a detailed discussion of their unique defensive approach, look here

The game will be open, and it will be intense. Frenetic. Chaotic.

Both teams will have chances to score. It should be very fun to watch, as long as we’re the team that converts the most chances.

As for our lineup, it will be interesting. For now, I’m going to assume that we WON’T be playing any Brazilians, who have returned quite late from the weirdest international break ever. With Firmino out, the forwards pick themselves. Kelleher will play in goal. The only question (as usual), is who plays in midfield. With Fabinho unavailable (probably), Henderson will almost certainly play as the defensive midfielder. I would guess that Thiago gets his first start of the season this time, as his conditioning should be up to snuff by now. The last spot is the hardest for me to guess. It could be Elliott. It could be Naby. It could be AOC or Curtis Jones. I’ll put on my biased glasses and guess that Naby will start.
So, my predicted lineup is:

I’ll also guess: Leeds 1 – LFC 2
